RYA volvo national youth champions...

We were in Weymouth from the 5-9th April for the RYA volvo youth national Championships. This event is a selector event for National Youth Squads, funding grants for the summer Internationals and selection to represent GBR at the ISAF youth sailing world championships in Istanbul, Turkey this July. This is the biggest event in youth sailing and like the Olympics, only one representative competes from each country.
The week started of windy with 20kts+ on our most outer course in Weymouth Bay, we scored two firsts in the breeze which was a very strong start to the week. The wind dropped each day but we managed to score 9 top 3's which is very consistent.
This put us first overall and in the end we didn't sail on the last day as there was no wind. We are now off to Istanbul to represent GBR at the ISAF youth Worlds which should be really good.
The results from the event can be found here.... http://www.sailracer.us/eventsites/results.asp?eventid=100&typ=_nos
We have just one selector left to qualify for the 420 class worlds and junior Europeans, and then all we have to do is work out a way to fund this summer!
